Glass Railings
Glass railings are an aesthetically pleasing addition to any commercial or residential project. Glass railings can use tempered or laminated safety glass at variable thicknesses dependent on the application to provide not only a visual center piece, but also meet the required safety code standard. Marvell Glass has installed commercial glass railing assemblies using CR Laurence Hardware at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH, SkyVenture Indoor Sky-diving and Surfing in Nashua, NH, World Academy in Nashua, NH, Macy’s Department Store at the Natick Mall, Natick, MA, Airmar manufacturing in Milford, NH and LSNE of Bedford, NH. Marvell has installed various custom residential applications like deck railings, interior landing rails, balcony rails and stair rails.

Fireplace & Wood Stove Glass
Most fireplace doors require tempered glass which withstands heat to 470 degrees. Wood, coal, and pellet stoves will require a neoceram glass which will withstand higher temperatures up to 1475 degrees. We stock neoceram glass, being always ready to fill your needs.
Plexiglas
Plexiglas is the brand name for acrylic sheet. It is a versatile material that is about 50% lighter than glass, and is available in a variety of thicknesses, colors and textures. It will not break as easily as glass, but if it does break, it will be in large pieces that can be easily handled without gloves with no splintering. Various sizes thicknesses of acrylic is stocked and can be cut to your specific dimensions.
Lexan
Lexan is the brand name for polycarbonate sheet. It is lightweight and offers high strength, stiffness and impact resistance with temperature resistance to 290 degrees. Stocked in 1/8″ and 1/4″, but available in a variety of thicknesses, polycarbonate can be a quick fix to a security, or safety issue.
Desk and Tabletops
Customarily made with 1/4″ thick plate glass, but also available in 3/8″, 1/2″ and 3/4″ thicknesses and may also be fabricated in tempered glass. Custom patterns and shapes are an added option. Edgework is available in polished, beveled or a variety of other options. Holes for technology wires and other items may also be incorporated.
Tempered & Laminated Safety Glass
Tempered glass is four to five times stronger than standard glass and does not break into sharp shards when it fails. Tempered glass is manufactured through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, making it harder than normal glass. Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer of plastic between it’s two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken and it’s high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. Both types of glass are commonly referred to as “safety glass”.
